What are the Boats in Boats and Bluegrass for? On Friday and Saturday, they will be taking canoe trips out into the backwaters of the Mississippi River. Led by Winona State University Outdoor Education and Recreation Center staff we will explore the wonders around Prairie Island. This area was a gathering place for many of the first people to live in this area and is now home to many creatures large and small. They take many trips during the two days and the paddle is included with a weekend pass. They provide the boats and life jackets are required and provided. They have lots of child life jackets but if you have your own please bring them!
